وَمَا خَلَقۡنَا ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَا لَٰعِبِينَ ٣٨
And We did not create the heavens and earth and that between them in play.
Translation: Saheeh International (English)

- وَمَاAnd notwamā
- خَلَقۡنَاWe createdkhalaqnā
- ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensl-samāwāti
- وَٱلۡأَرۡضَand the earthwal-arḍa
- وَمَاand whateverwamā
- بَيۡنَهُمَا(is) between thembaynahumā
- لَٰعِبِينَ(in) playlāʿibīna
Tafsir
And I did not create the heavens, the earth and everything between it in jest and amusement.
