Al-Jathiyah 27

Ayah 27 of 37 · Meccan

وَلِلَّهِ مُلۡكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَيَوۡمَ تَقُومُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ يَوۡمَئِذٖ يَخۡسَرُ ٱلۡمُبۡطِلُونَ ٢٧

And to Allāh belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And the Day the Hour appears - that Day the falsifiers will lose.

Each word's meaning and sound

  1. وَلِلَّهِAnd for Allahwalillahi
  2. مُلۡكُ(is the) dominionmul'ku
  3. ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ(of) the heavensl-samāwāti
  4. وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚand the earthwal-arḍi
  5. وَيَوۡمَand (the) Daywayawma
  6. تَقُومُis establishedtaqūmu
  7. ٱلسَّاعَةُthe Hourl-sāʿatu
  8. يَوۡمَئِذٖthat Dayyawma-idhin
  9. يَخۡسَرُwill loseyakhsaru
  10. ٱلۡمُبۡطِلُونَthe falsifiersl-mub'ṭilūna

Tafsir

And to Allah alone belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the kingdom of earth, so there is nobody to be truly worshipped in them besides Him. And on the day the Hour occurs in which Allah will raise the dead for reckoning and reward, the people of falsehood who used to worship others besides Allah, strive to refute the truth and establish falsehood, will lose.
