It is all the same for them whether you ask forgiveness for them or do not ask forgiveness for them; never will Allāh forgive them. Indeed, Allāh does not guide the defiantly disobedient people.
أَسۡتَغۡفَرۡتَwhether you ask forgivenessastaghfarta
لَهُمۡfor themlahum
أَمۡoram
لَمۡ(do) notlam
تَسۡتَغۡفِرۡask forgivenesstastaghfir
لَهُمۡfor themlahum
لَنNeverlan
يَغۡفِرَwill forgiveyaghfira
ٱللَّهُAllahl-lahu
لَهُمۡۚ[to] themlahum
إِنَّIndeedinna
ٱللَّهَAllahl-laha
لَا(does) notlā
يَهۡدِيguideyahdī
ٱلۡقَوۡمَthe peoplel-qawma
ٱلۡفَٰسِقِينَthe defiantly disobedientl-fāsiqīna
Tafsir
It is the same whether you, O Messenger, seek forgiveness for their sins or you do not seek forgiveness for them. Allah will never forgive their sins. Allah does not guide those who go against His obedience and who persist in disobeying Him.
