ٱللَّهُ يَعۡلَمُ مَا تَحۡمِلُ كُلُّ أُنثَىٰ وَمَا تَغِيضُ ٱلۡأَرۡحَامُ وَمَا تَزۡدَادُۚ وَكُلُّ شَيۡءٍ عِندَهُۥ بِمِقۡدَارٍ ٨
Allāh knows what every female carries 1 and what the wombs lose [prematurely] or exceed. 2 And everything with Him is by due measure.
Translation: Saheeh International (English)
1 With absolute knowledge inclusive of every aspect of the fetus' existence.
2 Beyond their normal period of pregnancy and/or the number of fetuses therein.
Word by word Each word's meaning and sound
ٱللَّهُ Allah al-lahu يَعۡلَمُ knows yaʿlamu مَا what mā تَحۡمِلُ carries taḥmilu كُلُّ every kullu أُنثَىٰ female unthā وَمَا and what wamā تَغِيضُ fall short taghīḍu ٱلۡأَرۡحَامُ the womb l-arḥāmu وَمَا and what wamā تَزۡدَادُۚ they exceed tazdādu وَكُلُّ And every wakullu شَيۡءٍ thing shayin عِندَهُۥ with Him ʿindahu بِمِقۡدَارٍ (is) in due proportion bimiq'dārin Tafsir Allah knows what every female bears in her womb. He knows everything about it. He knows about any shrinking, swelling, health or illness that occurs in the womb. By Him, may He be glorified, everything is determined with a measure that will neither decrease nor increase.
