Al-Anbya 82

Ayah 82 of 112 · Meccan

وَمِنَ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينِ مَن يَغُوصُونَ لَهُۥ وَيَعۡمَلُونَ عَمَلٗا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَۖ وَكُنَّا لَهُمۡ حَٰفِظِينَ ٨٢

And of the devils [i.e., jinn] were those who dived for him and did work other than that. And We were of them a guardian.1

Translation: Saheeh International (English)

1 Preventing any disobedience or deviation by them from Solomon's instructions and protecting him from being harmed by them.

Tafsir

I subjugated those Shayāṭīn who would dive into the oceans for him and find pearls etc. among doing other things like construction. I supervised their numbers and work well; nothing escaped My observation.

Al-Mukhtasar in interpreting the Noble Quran
