Al-Hajj 51

Ayah 51 of 78 · Medinan

وَٱلَّذِينَ سَعَوۡاْ فِيٓ ءَايَٰتِنَا مُعَٰجِزِينَ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡجَحِيمِ ٥١

But the ones who strove against Our verses, [seeking] to cause failure1 - those are the companions of Hellfire.

Translation: Saheeh International (English)

1 i.e., trying to undermine their credibility and thereby defeat the Prophet (ﷺ).

Tafsir

Those who strive to deny our verses, believing they will be able to render Allah powerless and escape Him so that He cannot punish them, those are the people of the fire of hell, staying constantly in it just as companions stay with one another.
