It is He who confers blessing upon you,1 and His angels [ask Him to do so] that He may bring you out from darknesses into the light. And ever is He, to the believers, Merciful.
Translation: Saheeh International (English)
1 i.e., Allāh (subḥānahu wa taʿālā) cares for you and covers you with His mercy. An additional meaning is that He praises you in the presence of the angels.
لِيُخۡرِجَكُمso that He may bring you outliyukh'rijakum
مِّنَfrommina
ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِthe darkness[es]l-ẓulumāti
إِلَىtoilā
ٱلنُّورِۚthe lightl-nūri
وَكَانَAnd He iswakāna
بِٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَto the believersbil-mu'minīna
رَحِيمٗاMercifulraḥīman
Tafsir
He is the one who showers mercy upon you and praises you, and His angels pray for you that He removes you from the darkness of disbelief into the light of faith. And Allah is merciful to the believers, so He does not punish them when they obey Him by fulfilling His command and refrain from what He has prohibited.
