Al-Qalam 28

Ayah 28 of 52 · Meccan

قَالَ أَوۡسَطُهُمۡ أَلَمۡ أَقُل لَّكُمۡ لَوۡلَا تُسَبِّحُونَ ٢٨

The most moderate of them said, "Did I not say to you, 'Why do you not exalt [Allāh]?'"1

Translation: Saheeh International (English)

1 i.e., remember or mention Him by saying, "...if Allāh wills." An additional meaning is "praise" or "thank" Him for His bounty.

Tafsir

The most virtuous among them said, “Did I not tell you when you made up your mind to prevent the poor from your crops: “Why do you not glorify Allah and repent to Him?””
