عَسَىٰ رَبُّنَآ أَن يُبۡدِلَنَا خَيۡرٗا مِّنۡهَآ إِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا رَٰغِبُونَ ٣٢
Perhaps our Lord will substitute for us [one] better than it. Indeed, we are toward our Lord desirous." 1
Translation: Saheeh International (English)
1 Of His mercy, forgiveness and bounty.
Word by word Each word's meaning and sound
عَسَىٰ Perhaps ʿasā رَبُّنَآ our Lord rabbunā أَن [that] an يُبۡدِلَنَا will substitute for us yub'dilanā خَيۡرٗا a better khayran مِّنۡهَآ than it min'hā إِنَّآ Indeed, we innā إِلَىٰ to ilā رَبِّنَا our Lord rabbinā رَٰغِبُونَ turn devoutly rāghibūna Tafsir “It is hoped from our Lord that He gives us better than our garden in return. Indeed, we are desirous towards Him; we hope for forgiveness from Him and seek goodness from Him.”
