And I will leave you and those you invoke other than Allāh and will invoke1 my Lord. I expect that I will not be in invocation to my Lord unhappy [i.e., disappointed]."
وَأَعۡتَزِلُكُمۡAnd I will leave youwa-aʿtazilukum
وَمَاand whatwamā
تَدۡعُونَyou invoketadʿūna
مِنbesidesmin
دُونِbesidesdūni
ٱللَّهِAllahl-lahi
وَأَدۡعُواْand I will invokewa-adʿū
رَبِّيmy Lordrabbī
عَسَىٰٓMay beʿasā
أَلَّآthat notallā
أَكُونَI will beakūna
بِدُعَآءِin invocationbiduʿāi
رَبِّي(to) my Lordrabbī
شَقِيّٗاunblessedshaqiyyan
Tafsir
And I shall leave you and leave the idols you worship besides Allah, and I shall call upon my Lord alone, without associating any partner with Him. Perhaps He will not deprive me if I pray to Him, otherwise I will be unsuccessful in praying to Him.
