فَٱتَّخَذۡتُمُوهُمۡBut you took themfa-ittakhadhtumūhum
سِخۡرِيًّا(in) mockerysikh'riyyan
حَتَّىٰٓuntilḥattā
أَنسَوۡكُمۡthey made you forgetansawkum
ذِكۡرِيMy remembrancedhik'rī
وَكُنتُمand you used (to)wakuntum
مِّنۡهُمۡat themmin'hum
تَضۡحَكُونَlaughtaḍḥakūna
Tafsir
You took these believers who called upon their Lord as a joke, mocking them and making fun of them, until being engrossed in mocking them made you forget Allah’s remembrance and you used to laugh at them, jokingly and mockingly.
